PACKAGING solutions provider Daibochi Plastic and Packaging Industry Bhd has recorded a pre-tax profit of RM20.263 million for its first nine months ended Sept 30, 2009, up from RM6.866 million in the same period last year.

Revenue increased by 4.2 per cent to RM167.2 million from RM160.5 million previously, the company said in a statement today.

Managing director Thomas Lim attributed the strong earnings growth to the increased group revenue with more favourable sales mix on top of lower production costs.

\”Moreover, we have received increased orders from our overseas customers this year, particularly from Australia,\” he said.

Daibochi produces flexible packaging predominantly for the food and beverage (F&B) and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industries.

\”We are optimistic of our business prospects going forward in view of our resilient industry as we serve the F&B and FMCG sectors,\” Lim said.
